School Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open.
Returning Students: Please log into your parent portal on Infinite Campus to complete. You can find the registration link at the bottom of your parent portal home page. If you have questions while doing your child's registration, or if you are having trouble logging into your parent portal, please contact the office and they can assist you at 712-646-2231 between the hours of 8AM - noon Monday - Thursday. Registration is encouraged to be completed by August 12th.
New Students: Please contact the office at 712-646-2231 between the hours of 8AM - noon Monday - Thursday. They will assist you in setting up an account to register your student(s).
Information on the Free and Reduced Lunch Application as well as other fees that will be due will be coming out soon.
HAWKEYE FALL SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS 2024
-7/8 Grade Junior High Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country will begin practices after school starting August 26th.
-Junior High 7/8 Grade Football Camp will be August 24th from 9am-11:30am.
(Registration for this camp is at 8:45am at the entry way of the Football Field / Track, a parent waiver will need to be signed at this time for each camper)
-7-12 Grade Volleyball Open Gyms begin July 16th (Every Tues/Thurs @ 5:30pm)
(High School Volleyball MANDATORY practices begin August 12th from 4pm to 6pm)
-High School Football Camp August 5th - 9th (4pm to 7pm)
(High School Football MANDATORY Practices begin August 12th from 4pm to 7pm)
-High School Cross Country MANDATORY Practices begin August 12th @ 8am)
**ATHLETES MUST have a Updated Doctors Physical along with the concussion, medical, and insurance form completed and returned to the High School Office before they may participate in Fall Athletics.

Family Week
The Iowa Department of Education has designated July 28 - August 4 as, "Family Week." In short, no students should be using any school facilities and coaches should have no contact of any kind (meetings, workouts, fundraising, outside camps, etc.) with students. Students should not participate in any activities organized by or for the benefit of school programs. Enjoy your time together for some Rest and Relaxation!

On July 1st, 2024, the West Harrison Wellness Center rates will increase to the following rates for Family or Individual memberships. If you are a current member that has an active membership, you will pay the new rates when you renew your membership. If you are a new member wanting to join, you will pay the new rates starting July 1st, 2024.
$150 per 1 year membership
$80 per 6 month membership
$40 per 3 month membership

On Friday May 24th, our staff and students got to enjoy a group called Raices de Mexico. Thank you to Mrs. Palmero for bringing this group to West Harrison. What a way to end the school year!!
Thank you to all of our Hawkeye Staff, Students and our Hawkeye Community for a great 2023-2024 School Year!! We want to thank Morgan Daniels and Drew Radloff for all their years of service and wish them good luck with their future endeavors!! We also want to say Happy Retirement to Michelle Moore and give huge thanks to her for all her years of service and generosity, enjoy your retirement!!
On May 23rd, Mrs. Palmero's Los Aventureros went to the Museo Latino. There was an exhibition about Frida Kahlo and the Blue House. They had the chance to learn more about the famous Mexican artist and her work. After that, students had the chance to make “papel picado “which it is used in Mexican celebrations. And the last activity organized for them was dancing the Polka. It was not easy at the beginning, but they nailed it. We had so much fun. Thank you to Mrs. Fonley for giving us the chance to have an amazing May Term. It has been a great experience for students and teachers.
On Thursday May 23rd, Ms. Clark's May Term class took a trip to Onawa to Mr. and Mrs. Fonley's house to cook pizza on their outdoor Wood Fire Pizza Oven. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Fonley for letting them enjoy pizza outside at your home!!!!

On Wednesday May 22nd, Mrs. Palmero's Los Aventureros May Term class went to learn how to dance Salsa. It was amazing and they had so much fun. Then they went to see many of the murals that are painted in different buildings in Omaha, and students were tour guides explaining to the rest of the group what the murals meant to each neighborhood.
It was a fantastic day.
Now that Spring is upon us and Summer is right around the corner the West Harrison Booster Club wants to remind everyone that they are still selling garden/yard flags!! The flags are 12x18 in size. The stake to display the flag is not included. The flags are $20 and can be purchased in the HS office. Please see Keri King if you would like to purchase one. This is a great way to support your Hawkeyes!!
The Iowa Administrative Rules of Special Education require each school district to develop a plan for the delivery of special education services.
