Thursday's varsity softball game at West Monona will start at 7:00 pm. There will be no JV game.

Wednesday and Thursday's varsity baseball games will start at 5:30 pm. There will be no JV games.

Reminder to our 9-11 parents/guardians: Students who have grades at or above a D (check JMC) do NOT have to arrive to school tomorrow until 9:15. Student with a D- or F in any class MUST be at school at 8 am.

9th - 11th Grade Parents and Guardians: *You have received an email detailing our semester testing schedule. All students are required to attend all classes during the testing period, but their start and finish time may be different. Read below: *IF YOUR CHILD HAS D OR ABOVE IN ALL OF THEIR CLASSES, THEY CAN COME TO SCHOOL LATE ON WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY AND LEAVE EARLY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. *IF YOUR CHILD HAS A D- OR F IN ANY CLASS WILL BE EXPECTED TO ATTEND FOR THE FULL DAY UNTIL THAT GRADE IS AT A D OR HIGHER. 6th-8th Grade Parents and Guardians: *All students will be at school during the regular school day. If their grades are at or above a D, they will participate in some activities and fun social time instead of class or makeup work time.

Tonight's softball game at Boyer Valley will start at 6:15 pm. It will be one varsity game.

Congratulations to Hunter Hansen for placing 8th in the 400 M Hurdles and Maclayn Houston tying for 10th in the high jump at the state Track & Meet.

West Harrison's Maclayn Houston and Hunter Hansen participate in the State Track and Field Meet today. Hunter runs the 400 M Hurdles at 5:50 pm and Maclayn jumps in the High Jump at 6:00 pm. You can see live results at the following site: https://iahsaa.org/track-field/ state-meet-central/

Attendance limitations have been removed for this week’s Iowa High School State Track & Field Championships following updated public health guidance and coordination with Drake University and Polk County Health Department. The three-day IHSAA and IGHSAU meet at Drake Stadium will be open to all interested spectators, cancelling capacity and seating restrictions. Tickets for all six sessions will go on sale at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18. Tickets already purchased through qualifying participants are still good for their assigned sessions. All digital tickets are $10, plus processing fees, and must be purchased through the Tickets page on the IHSAA website.

Due to the new COVID madidates handed down over the weekend, all the fitness center machines are open to use. Masks are no longer mandatory.

Starting immediately, masks will no longer be required for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year in school facilities, at school events, or on district transportation. This includes at graduation this Sunday. There are also no limits on the number of guests who can attend graduation. Students, staff, and community members will have our full support if they choose to continue to wear masks, however, masking will now be a personal choice. This change comes as a result of new Iowa Department of Public Health guidance that was released late Friday afternoon. As a result of this guidance, students who are exposed to positive COVID-19 cases are no longer required to quarantine. Only those who test positive will be required to isolate per the new guidance. STATE TRACK T-SHIRTS - ORDERS DUE MONDAY MORNING BY 9:00AM We are taking orders for state track t-shirts for Maclayn Houston. We do not have the design at this time, but the t-shirts will be royal blue with gray and white lettering. Cost is $10 per t-shirt. Please contact Steve Forbes, Annette Knott, Maclayn Houston or Amy Stolz with size and quantity that you would like to order. **You can also contact the school. They will be available for pick-up Thursday morning at the school.
