Please join us for our STEM night on Tuesday, February 11th from 5-7pm in the elementary gym. This event is free for all preschool-4th grade families. Come explore a variety of activities with our teachers and meet up with our special visitors too! We hope to see you there!

These Hawkeyes were caught SOARing last week! The weekly S.O.A.R. award is given to elementary students who display the following positive behaviors: S- Safety (I will act in a way that protects myself and others.) O- On Task (I will focus on what we are learning and only my own work.) A- Achievement (I will show my best effort in all that I do.) R- Respect (I will respect myself, others, and our school. SAVE THE DATE Come and cheer on the Hawkeyes as we recognize our YOUTH BOYS BB Teams on Friday, February 7th as they take on Woodbine @ 6pm in Mondamin. We will recognize the players and coaches at halftime of the game for their hard work and dedication through the season. Students will gain free entry, adults will need a ticket to enter. Last week Haylee Kjeldgaard came to speak with our students about her engineering job at HGM in Council Bluffs. It was a great learning experience for our students!

The third grade class finished their Norse mythology unit in literacy. As an end of the unit activity, the class is taking a 5-day Viking journey from Vinland to Scandinavia. Today, the class learned about a long-ship. They described what a long-ship looks like and drew a picture of a long-ship. Then they used themselves to construct a long-ship, complete with a mast and a scary dragon head to terrify any enemies.
